Intent and Deed

There is a sometimes subtle difference between intent and deed, which despite every similarity, remains.
Offering to do anything for someone, will never be equal to doing everything you can.

If you ever really want to lose weight, turn off your air-conditioner.

If bad people can get ahead of the game by having secret societies, doesn’t it make sense that good people will have to do the same?

She doesn’t so much want to be loved by a type of someone, so much as she wants to be loved like that.

If you make yourself who you are, and run your own life, what does it say for you when you complain about your life?

I don’t think camping is where we go, in a home away from home, to do the same things we normally do, I think camping is where we go to do completely different things, in a completely different place.

The worst part of life is having people I love enough, that I will miss terribly when they have gone.
The best part of life is having people I love enough, that I will miss terribly when they have gone.

The gift of knowledge -vs- The gift of eternal life

An old rambling redone.

Since mankind has first contemplated living, rather than dying.
There has been borne a struggle, between life and death, and knowledge.
Genesis indicates a choice of two trees, in The Garden of Eden, Eternal Life, and Knowledge.

Is there a reason the serpent enticed with knowledge, rather than life, or some luxury?

Is there some ancient philosophy behind this choice, that we have failed to retain over these millenium?

Doesn't the choice of knowledge over life, luxury, or instant gratification, directly correlate to “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”?
If so, then why are Adam and Eve condemned by their god, for teaching themselves to fish?

It does now occur to me to ponder; had Eve chosen the other fruit, from the Tree of Eternal Life, would we utilize eternal life, to aquire knowledge?

I ask this because, we currently further the original knowledge gained by Adam, in that long ago garden, to extend life.

And what good would be an extended life, without the perspective to understand the finite, death, and ultimately, the circle of life itself?

How would you take pleasure in living forever, if you had no knowledge of death?

What good is knowledge, if it is not used to prolong and save lives, and prevent death?

How can we think that we might someday prevent death, if we had never been told it once was?

What else might inspire our civilization, religions, advances in technology, and education of self, if not for struggling against the limits of time placed upon us by death?

Myself, I would rather be aware of my innescapable demise, than to perpetuate through infinity, in ignorance.

This choice made, I must thus admit, to be arrogant towards ignorance, in preferance of one, over the other.

Arrogance then becomes vanity, the quest for extended life through knowledge a vexation, and even in death's passing, knowing that we do.

Solomon argued that; "I have seen all the works that are done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit."

This argument accepted, lifes punishment for the vanity of desire for knowledge then, is death.

"And the innocent shall inherit the Earth."

And the struggle to aquire knowledge, shall accomplish the hard purchase of extending our time above it, before we too inherit, the Earth.

Meanwhile...

In my own vain pursuit of knowledge,
I prepare myself, for that thing which shall be my final thought,
something that might encompass the whole of my life,
and hopefully justify it's course, in ending.

In the midst of all my efforts,
and I fleetingly suppose,
considering my passion for motorcycles, speed, and adventure,
regardless of what I contemplate,
and twisted irony that fate becomes,
my final thought, and eulogy of self,
will most likely be;

 "OUCH !!"

Adieu! and take thy praise with thee to heaven,
Thy ignomy sleep with thee in the grave,
But not remember’d in thy epitaph!

Orbital Coincidence and The Stuff Black Holes Are Made Of ...

Modern Astronomy claims that there are no coincidental correlations between Earth, Moon, and Sun.

Being the scofflaw that I am, it occurred to me that the timing and substance of Greek and Babylonian Astronomical calculations, Archimedes chronological devices, and the earliest recorded Mayan long count dates, seemed a bit more than coincidence.
So reaching back to some Babylonian and Greek astronomical principles recorded during that time period, I calculated the approximate 6585.3213 days of the Saros Cycle, which is when the sun and moon repeat the same basic geometry and eclipse in almost exactly the same spot from a perspective on the surface of the Earth, and factored this into the 5,125 year Mayan Long Count Calendar, which is coincidental to the Solar Systems cycle of passing through the Galactic Rift, and multiplying 365 days times 5,125 years, reached a sum of 1,870,625 days in a Rift Cycle, dividing the 6585.3213 days of the Saros into the 1,870,625 days of a Rift Cycle and found that almost exactly 284 Saros Cycles(284.0597921926755) pass during a Rift Cycle.
Even though this showed an overall coincidence of Sun, Earth, and Moon, I then, just for shits and grins, calculated to see if I could discover a coincidence just in the timing of the Moon’s orbit.
This was a bit difficult as the moon has somewhat of a discrepancy in that an Anomalistic orbit(27.5546 days) is the exact distance around its ellipse, whereas a Synodic orbit(29.5306 days) includes the bit extra it has to travel, in order to catch up to its beginning spot on the Earth, taking into consideration that the Earth is moving ahead of it in relation to half of the Moon’s orbital rotation.
However, neither the Anomolistic, or the Synodic orbital variants would divide into a Rift Cycle, so just as The Mythbusters will not quit until a thing blows up, it occurred to me to take an average of the two cycles, and I came up with 28.5426 days, which divided into the 1,870,625 days of the Rift Cycle at 65,538.0028 Lunar Cycles in a Rift Cycle.
Not really scientific, but fun to find a correlation just the same.
Considering that orbital geometry is constantly varying with gravitational influences by the other planets, that is as pretty much near an orbital coincidence as I can see in a nearly 2 million day cycle. Although not quite as apparent as Mercury's 3:2 resonance, I still claim that these are an indication of a coincidental phenomenon, not just between the Earth, Moon and Sun, but a resonance that also includes the Galaxy’s Plane and Center.
Could this also be an indication that there might be some orbital ‘tweaking’ as we pass through the Galactic Rift, in order to maintain this resonance for the next cycle, that might possibly occur as we pass through the center of the Galactic Rift, on December twenty first, in the year twenty twelve(12/21/2012) of the current era?
I will be absolutely thrilled, if I am still alive during this time, and have the opportunity to find out, whatever course it may take.

I also hold personal beliefs that everything resonates, or pulses to a common rhythm, from the smallest buzzing of electrons around a nucleus of an atom, to Suns whirling around Galaxies, and that every single one of these subtle and incredibly huge resonances and harmonies, influence and ‘Butterfly Effect’ everything throughout the infinite universe.

Along this line, I also believe that our bodies and all other organic mater ‘hums along' with the harmonic resonance of the Earth, Sun and Moon, present at the Earth’s surface, and that without this hum, the common resonance of the atomic structure of our bodies will begin to lose its harmonic balance, and this loss of harmonic integrity explains why when Astronauts leave the Earth’s gravitational field for extended periods, they begin to suffer from health issues.

And from this, I believe that when and if, science establishes a measure of atomic resonance, and the properties of harmonics that define attraction and repulsion, rather than separate measurements, for what appears to our limited senses to be separate phenomenon, we will then break through to the physics dreamed of in Star Trek movies.

Just a bit of stray thought that wouldn’t let me sleep at about 2:30AM, so I got out of bed and on the internet, to find and crunch the numbers, and sure enough, there they were, and I hope you are all happy that I decided to share this bit of insomnia with you.

NOTE:  I was actually awakened by the sudden realization, during a 'contemplating things' semi-dream state, that a massive star shedding the last of it's energy(evaporation) and its subsequent collapse(magnetic bottle), must invariably create something quite similar to what is known as Bose-Einstein Condensate, and that this incredibly huge amount of dense matter gravitationally held together at near absolute zero temperatures, must be what Black Holes are made of. The research tangent that led me to speculating if my atomic resonance theory might lead somewhere with this issue, then side tracked me to the orbital resonance/coincidence question, and that was more easily resolved in a little under an hour, so I took the easy way out.
I hope to e-mail with some of the researchers involved in the B-E C, and have some answers for those of you sharing my curiosity, sometime in the near future.
And before some smart-aleck comes back with that the 5125 year Rift Cycle might should actually be multiplied by 365.25 days(that includes the 4 year leap day) 4 Galactic Rift Cycles(7,487,625 days) is equal to 1137.0174 Saros Cycles.
And 4 x 5,125 year Galactic Rift Cycles, are coincidentally nearly equal to both the Precessional 20-26,000 year and the Oblique 41,000 year Milankovitch Axial Cycles of the Earth

And that is also a hellofa coincidence  .. :p
